Welsh band, The Hepburns first appeared at the tail end of the 80's when they recorded an influential LP and 12” for Cherry Red, a Peel session, then disappeared for a decade along with the masters for the band's second album. Matt Jones and Mike Thomas continued writing songs and cite cinema and easy listening composers as influences. Original drummer Les Mun was immortalized in the song title "You're a Queer One, Les Mun". Les was followed by Aled Richards and later by Pat Grover.
In 2000, The Hepburns can be found on Northern California's [l=Radio Khartoum label. More than 90 new songs have been recorded and numerous new albums have been released. It would seem their original cinematic flair is as strong as ever.
Current lineup:
Matt Jones (Guitar & Vocals)
Mike Thomas (Bass)
Pat Grover (Drums)
Sue Reece (Flute, Keyboard and Backing Vocals)
