UK blues guitarist and vocalist. Part of the late 60's UK blues scene brought together on the [l=Blue Horizon label. Label-mates of Fleetwood Mac backed him on a few tracks on his debut album, such as John McVie, Mick Fleetwood and friend Peter Green (2), who introduced him to Mike Vernon. In the early days Bennett was mainly a guitar/harmonica/pedal drum solo act popular in clubs, often backed on vocals by Stella Sutton, whom he met at Epsom Art College and later married. By the 1970s Bennett had signed to manager Clifford Davis which gave him a higher profile and appearances in the USA, such as a tour with John Mayall.

Bennett had four children, Joe, Hannah, Esther and Ben by Stella, who ceased performing after his death.
