American composer & sound artist born in 1959, San Rafael, California. Creates music and sound installations, often site-specific works using field recordings, electronics, and acoustic instruments. Early-mid 1980s lived in Olympia, Washington and was involved with OP Magazine, K Records (Customer Service, Tiny Holes, John Foster's Pop Philosophers, The Go Team, Lois, Jan Brock), KAOS radio (Snapshot Radio/Cassette Zine with Rich Jensen), and Palace of Lights label (Regional Zeal, Marc Barreca); mid-late 80s lived in NYC, mainly performing free improvised music (A MICA Bunker, PS 122, etc.); late 80s-2004 lived in Santa Fé and Albuquerque, New Mexico, co-founded Nonsequitur/¿What Next? Recordings with Jonathan Scheuer, performed with Gamelan Encantada, began work with amplified natural/found objects, music for dance/theater/film and installations; since 2004 lives in Seattle, Washington, continues with installation work and performs with Seattle Phonographers Union.
