He took his nickname, "Dimples", from a female admirer who remarked that he was always smiling. He started recording in 1973. His first hit was a cover of Penguins, The's "Earth Angel". He duetted with Betty Wright. His biggest hits were "If It Ain't One Thing, It's Another", "Your Wife Is Cheating On Us". He worked as a writing and production duo with Belinda Wilson. His production credits include 9.9, some records of Ohio Players and Betty Wright.
